Travel information


Avoid carrying large sums of money.

Keep luggage to a minimum on safari- lightweight bag and 1 handbag per person.
Large items of luggage can be securely stored at city hotels.
On air safaris the minimum luggage allowance per person is 15kg in Kenya.
Use soft bags where possible.

Photographic Equipment:

Binoculars are invaluable for game and bird viewing.
Carry spare batteries.
Take a good supply of film.
A telephoto lens of 200-300mm is strongly recommended. A lens hood and ultraviolet filters are also advisable.


It is recommended that you always check with your doctor or travel clinic for the latest information regarding precautionary measures. Otherwise the following are recommended: Hepatitis A, Tetanus, Polio, Typhoid, Malaria, Diphtheria, Hepatis B, Yellow fever or Cholera certificate is only required from travelers from an infected areas.

Sports Facilities:

There are a variety of sports available in Malindi – tennis, deep sea fishing in Indian Ocean, diving and snorkeling, biking and rock climbing among others at the upper Coast.


The roads are generally in good condition. Four-wheeled drive vehicles may be required for up-country during rain seasons.


The official language s is English and Kiswahili as national language spoken through out the country.


Kenya enjoys a wonderful weather throughout the year. March, April and October (Long rains) are the rains months. July being the coldiest months . Otherwise the temperatures range from 22oc to 35oc.
